Artist Feature – Thomas Rude

I want to feature the wonderful artwork of Portland, OR based wood sculptor and print maker, Thomas Rude this week as my feature artist. I’ve been photographing Thomas’ work for about two years now, you can see just some of the images below of what I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph. I always enjoy getting a chance to see him, talking to him, and getting to see what new things he’s working on. His specialties include printmaking and woodcarving of signs, doors, sculptures, & restoration of antique wood furniture or similar artifacts. He has a blog too, which you can check out by clicking here.

Thomas Rude is currently represented by two galleries; Portland Art Museum‘s Rental Sales Gallery in Portland, OR and the Simon Mace Gallery in Port Townsend, WA. He also has a presence at Portland’s Saturday Market each weekend under the Burnside Bridge downtown, and just this week was featured on local CBS affiliate KOIN-TV‘s weekend program Go! Northwest. You can see the episode “Portland by Train” by visiting their website.

I hope you enjoy this week’s featured artist, if you like what you see here, please feel free to visit the links above to the appropriate place to find out more information about Thomas Rude.
