This is what happened when I brought a Yellow Fireworks Dahlia plant home from the market. I’m not a big fan of visiting the market in the Summertime because they bring out all the recent flowers and I want to bring them all home. I have limited garden space, so I don’t get to grow a lot of flowers in the house. But I manage to take one or two in a season and my indoor plant collection is a budding start. While the flowers on these plants are blooming I’ll then spend afternoon, morning and night creating images and capturing memories that hopefully will last throughout the Winter.
These are some of my favorite images from this particular plant and creative session with a Yellow Fireworks Dahlia flower. To find out which of these three images is my absolute favorite, visit the Niume post.
I hope everyone had a great night!
I am very fortunate to be able to live in Portland, OR where every year since 2004, I’ve been able to visit the Tom McCall Waterfront Park along the Willamette River for their fireworks display on July 4th. It’s a totally festive atmosphere with the Waterfront Blues Festival happening. It must be 100’s of thousands of people that fill the waterfront park, both sides of the river, and along the bridges. It’s eclectic, with something different happening around every corner. One of my favorite Portland traditions has me riding my bike down to the river’s east side, locking it up, walking over the Hawthorne bridge to overlook the Blues Festival grounds, enjoy a little dancing on the bridge, then walking around to my favorite spot to photograph the fireworks. These images were created there and are only two of my favorite collection from this session. For more great images, please visit my Facebook album and while you’re there become a fan today so I can reach my goal of 100.
I hope you like and comments are always welcome.
In recognition of 236th birthday of the US as we currently know it, I want to submit some images I’ve created in year’s past of the fireworks display that takes place in Downtown Portland, OR every year. This is a great celebration on the waterfront of Portland. The annual Waterfront Blues Festival is going on over the 4th of July weekend, and huge 3 – 4 day music festival that benefits the Oregon Food Bank. Tons of people line both sides of the Willamette River, in some places even closing nearby bridges because the parking is atrocious and people just stop on the bridge during the show. Might be a good idea so people don’t drive off the bridge due to the distraction of the fireworks. Unfortunately, these are small images because it appears that I’ve lost, or misplace, the originals, but they should still be displayed here on my blog in such a way so that you can view them properly. I hope you like them as much as I do, please feel free to leave comments, and I hope you have a great, and safe, 4th of July celebration.
